"Talbot's best guess is that Jackson's original trek to the valley under the Teton Range was in 1825. He spent enough time here that around 1829 fellow trader and trapper Sublette dubbed the valley "Jackson's Hole." Early on, the region's name was actually "Jackson's Big Hole." WELCOME ! I spent some significant time in Jackson Hole during my youth- fortunate to have some hospitable relatives who own a home by the fish hatchery (RIP, Aunt Martha), and I regularly return to enjoy "God's Country", praise the Lord !
